December 15 to 20, 2026 · Costa Rica

Four courts. Twenty people. Nobody else.

Five nights, all inclusive, on a private estate above Costa Rica's Pacific coast. The estate is yours alone. A private chef, pro coaching, excursions, transfers. The gate closes behind you.

Why a private estate

You have played the other kind of pickleball trip.

Side by side, here is why this one is different.

The resort trip

Any resort with a court

  • Two shared courts for the whole resort
  • Fifteen minutes of play an hour
  • Random partners, mismatched levels
  • The room is just the start of the bill

Rally at Bella Vista

A private estate, taken over

  • Four private courts for 20 guests
  • Unlimited play, day and night
  • Level matched draws, set before you land
  • One price. Chef, coaching, excursions, all of it.
The estate

Four acres. Four buildings. One gate.

A private, gated hilltop estate in the Macacona hills. One hour fifteen from San Jose airport, thirty minutes from Pacific beaches. Your group is the only group on the property.

Aerial view of the estate buildings and pool at golden hour

Ten bedrooms across the main house, the guest house, a treehouse with its own jacuzzi, and a private standalone villa. The estate sleeps more, but we cap every trip at twenty guests to keep it intimate.

The pickleball

Grouped by your level, coached by pros, never a wait.

Three pro coaches, four private courts, twenty guests. The whole week is built around how you play.

Grouped by your level

Send your rating before you arrive. Pods, drills, and the week's draw are built around it.

The pros' full attention

Three coaches, one job: your group. Clinics, coached matches, and one-on-one time for everyone.

Never a wait

Four private courts for one small group. No sign up sheets, no sitting out.

Structured or social

Round robins and ladders when you want competition. Open courts when you want to rally.

The week

A rhythm, not a schedule.

Play in the morning, choose your afternoon. Every activity is optional. Chase every session or melt into the pool.

Arrive easy

Arrive easy

Settle in, get fitted with your custom paddle, and meet the group over sunset drinks by the courts.

Mornings on court

Mornings on court

Clinics and match play in small pods grouped by level, run by coaches who learn your game. Open courts after, for anyone who wants more reps.

Afternoons, your call

Afternoons, your call

Zipline through the jungle, swim under a waterfall, soak in hot springs, hit the beach, book a massage, or do absolutely nothing.

Tournament day

Tournament day

The signature cup. Formats built so every level has a real shot and everyone plays.

Nights to remember

Nights to remember

Chef dinners at one long table, drinks under the stars, night pickleball under the lights, and a bonfire send-off.

Leave with the reel

Leave with the reel

A professional photographer and videographer capture the week. You go home with photos of yourself playing and a highlight reel.

Nothing here is mandatory. It is your week, your way.

Your coaches

Pros who play with you, not just teach at you.

Coaching here is not a side gig. All three are active pro players and sought-after coaches who teach every level of play for a living. The trip is small on purpose: they learn your game, and you will warm up with, rally against, and share dinner with them all week.

From your hosts
We are avid players, and we built Rally on our own ideal pickleball vacation: one private estate, four courts, coaches we would fly for, and everything handled. We often join the trips ourselves. Come have a great time with us in paradise.
The founders, Rally Retreats
Who it is for

Built for players. Great for the person they married.

Serious about your game

We screen levels before arrival and match your play all week. You will not spend your vacation being fed balls.

Couples and crews

Come as a pair or bring the whole group chat. Rooms sleep two to four.

The non player

Pool, spa, yoga, excursions, and a chef. The only optional thing on this trip is pickleball.

Solo travelers

Come alone, leave with a draw full of rivals. Shared rooms make the math easy.

Questions

Everything people ask before they book.

What skill level do I need?

Any level. We ask for your rating before you arrive and build clinics and match play so you spend the week with people close to your level. Strong players get real games. Newer players get real coaching.

I do not play pickleball. Can I still come?

Yes. The estate, the chef, the pool, the spa, yoga, and the excursions are all yours too. Plenty of guests come for the trip and never pick up a paddle.

How do I get there?

Fly into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO). We pick you up at the airport and drive you to the estate, about one hour and fifteen minutes. Transfers are included.

What is the food like?

A private chef cooks every meal on the estate, from fresh Costa Rican breakfasts to family style dinners. Tell us about dietary needs when you book and the kitchen will handle it.

What does my deposit actually do?

A $500 per person deposit holds your specific room and is applied in full to your trip price. In a shared room, your deposit holds your bed, not the whole room. The balance is due 60 days before arrival. If we cancel the trip, for example if it does not reach its minimum group size, you choose between a full refund and a credit toward a future trip.

What if I need to cancel?

The deposit is non-refundable. Beyond it: cancel more than 90 days out for a full refund of the rest, 60 to 89 days out for half, and inside 60 days there is no refund. You can also transfer your spot to another guest up to 30 days out for a $150 administrative fee. Full details are in our Booking Terms, and comprehensive travel insurance is required for every guest.

Is it safe?

The estate is private, gated, and staffed with 24 hour security. All transport, including airport transfers and excursions, is private and arranged by us.

When is the trip?

The December retreat runs Tuesday, December 15 to Sunday, December 20, 2026. Earlier the same month, Steve Kennedy and Rich Van't Hof host a six night training retreat, December 7 to 13. A January trip follows, and its waitlist is open now through the form below. Future dates are always announced to the list first.

What should I bring?

Court shoes, sunscreen, and swimwear. Bring your paddle if you love it. A welcome paddle is included either way.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is required for every guest. Any provider works, and we will ask you to confirm coverage before the trip.

Is there wifi at the estate?

Yes. The estate has wifi. Stay reachable, share the week as it happens, or fit in a work call between morning play and the afternoon excursion.

Will I have to share a room?

Only if you choose to. Seven of the nine rooms are private — yours alone, or shared with whoever you book with. Two rooms sleep three or four and cost less; they are usually taken by friends travelling together. If you are on your own and would like a shared room at the lower rate, say so and we will introduce you to whoever you would be sharing with before anything is confirmed.

I am travelling alone. What does it cost?

Any private room or villa can be yours alone for 78% more. Or take a bunk in a shared room at $2,900 if you would like to be matched. Plenty of guests come on their own — the trip is built around a group of twenty who eat together every night.

How many people are on the trip?

Twenty guests, three coaches, an assistant coach, and someone shooting photo and video all week. Nine of the ten bedrooms are guest rooms; the tenth is where the coaching team sleeps.

What is the group actually like?

Twenty guests and three coaches on the estate. Everyone eats at the same table and plays on the same four courts. The coaches stay on the property all week rather than driving in for sessions — you will play with them in the morning and sit next to them at dinner. It is closer quarters than a resort, and that is deliberate.

We run a beach retreat too.
Also from Rally Retreats

We run a beach retreat too.

A different trip, same idea: a private beachfront property, pickleball, and everything handled. Tell us in the form if the beach is more your speed.
